Work will soon begin on the reconstruction of a Chester Street bridge that most people have probably never noticed. However, the work is necessary and will require a portion of Chester to be closed temporarily, which we'd bet everyone will notice.
Work on the bridge project is slated to start on Wednesday, April 24th. The closed section of Chester will be between Larry Anderson Lane (just south of I-40) and Pinckley Road (which leads into Rolling Hills Farms). Traffic can use Airline Road to detour the area. Traffic from Fayette County will still be able to use Larry Anderson.
Due to the extent of the work, it is anticipated to take approximately 90 days. We will provide any updates on timing as work progresses and more details are known.
